More often than not, people receive the word "materialistic" offensively. That's not how I see it. Personally speaking, I see no evil in love for material, the appreciation of beauty, quality, & luxury. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with shallow obsessing & indulging in luxury as long as it is not the only thing one obsesses over; in other words, one's preference and character must have dimension.

I would make one terrible, terrrrrrrible liar if I ever claim that I don't experience a happy heart dance at the sight of stacked up LV trunks, or that I can stand still and not melt & drown in admiration every time I see the impeccable craftsmanship of the infamous Hermes Birkin; my eyes –if not my entire physique- would show all evidence to the contrary.

I'm slowly {but surely} building a troop of Birkins, LV trunks, and fresh-water Jackie 'O' pearls, ..in due time, of course they'll all belong to my gorgeous to-be-baby girl, you may submit your CVs to qualify for adoption *lol*
